The most wonderful time of the year

Over the years my love for Christmas has grown and grown. It's the pretty lights everywhere and the colder weather that brings hot chocolate and scarves. I just love it, people seem happier, as long as you're not trying to find a parking spot at the mall. The best part is that I finally got a real tee this year, after years of a fake one at my parents house because my dad is "allergic." Plus I got to decorate with all my Christmas accumulations over the years from students' presents and my own purchases. I even got Robert, my self-prefessed Grinch to enjoy buying decorations for our new apartment. We don't have much but as the years go on, our decorations will grow as well. Here are some pics of the apartment, you can play find the decorations.

This is what you see when you first walk in.

Our kitchen when you first walk in as well.

Our first real snow

The news said Loveland got 4 inches of snow overnight. I experienced driving in the after effects of it this morning for work. This was my first time ever driving in snow and it was kind of scary. I was going about 30 miles under the speed limit because it was slushy and I still slid a few times but no accidents, thank God! Here are two pics from when Robert and I got up at 6:30 this morning. Robert actually tried scraping my car but stopped because of his lack of gloves. It's the thought that counts right? The second is of the view out our bedroom window.

Bye bye Butternut!

I know I haven't written in awhile, I hope I still have some readers. Here's the reason why I haven't written...
Robert and I have had some changes happen to us in the last few weeks. We had been dealing with our roommates the past few weeks and have been rather miserable in our living situation. To make a long story short... our roommates were selfish, inconsiderate, messy jerks. I won't bore you with the ranting and raving though. This last week was the worst, we had a huge fight with them last Saturday because of really stupid stuff. I guess it all just came to a head and the poop hit the fan. It came down to me apparently being a horrible person. Yes, me, I'm a horrible person who cleaned up after them, took care of their dirty towels, washed their dishes, etc. I did all this because if Robert or I didn't do it, it wouldn't get done. So we decided we had to get out of there, ASAP! On Monday we made phone calls to find apartments for rent, on Tuesday we took tours of the apartments we thought would be best for us, and on Friday we moved all of our stuff out of their house and had our first dinner in our new apartment that night. Incidentally, our first dinner was a classic, macaroni and cheese! So now we are renting a 3 bedroom, 1 3/4 bath apartment with Robert's boss. I know, another roommate? But, this guy is very laid back and knows that it's our place and he has to go by what we want for it, like it being clean and staying clean. On a sidenote, we heard today that our ex roommate is blasting us on... where else? Myspace! That should tell you want kind of immature people we lived with.
